Washer does everything except agitate. When it fills and is ready to agitate, I can hear the motor hum. The belt is on correctly and not broken. I unplugged it for a minute, plugged it back in & opened & closed lid 6 times in 12 seconds (just because I saw it somewhere on here) Can you give any further trouble-shooting advice?

The thing with the lid you tried was a good idea, but unfortunately it is for GE's with a mode shifter and an inverter on the motor which you do not have.

Try pulling off the agitator and replacing this part.
