Checked the motor and it works fine and the coupler has no broken parts at all. The washing machine makes a humming/grinding noise and the agitator barely moves. The water does drain out of the tube and that's about it.

So there is no spin cycle either ?

Did you remove the agitator and check for something stuck under it ?

It's starting to sound like you've got a bad gearcase(transmission), if you're sure you motor works and the coupler is in tact.

Dawg

You're Welcome,

Something else to try,

With the motor out, leave the drive coupler on the gearcase,

Turn the coupler several revolutions in both directions, It should be somewhat easy in the counter clockwise direction (agitate), and will be easy until the brake / clutch engages and turns the spin basket, in the clockwise direction.

If you can feel the gears not meshing, if it jams up , locks up,clunking noise, you've got a bad gearbox, and will need to replace the gearcase.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)
