Hello,

After 14 years, the top agitator would not spin but the bottom works fine. I replaced the dog agits and the agitator works beautifully.

But I realized that after the wash cycle, the water doesn't drain anymore. I opened and closed the door a few times and it began to drain. Sounds like it could be the door switch.

Seems kind of odd that it would happen immediately after my repair. Is it a coincidence or could there be some link between the door switch and the agitator? How possible is it that the switch was somehow affected by removing the agitator?

Please advise as to my next step. What should I do now?

Thanks in advance.

I think you are right the lid switch is bad. I don’t think you could have caused this by replacing the dogs. This page shows how to test and replace the lid switch Whirlpool Washer Not Spinning Repair Guide
