Model Number: 11092581210 Brand: Kenmore Age: More than 10 years
Just replaced the lid switch on a Kenmore washing machine. (Was informed when I ordered the part that its a whirlpool made for Sears).
Somewhere in the replacement of the lid switch I screwed up the water level selection. I pulled the control panel apart again and I thought that I had accidentally disconnected the vacuum hose from the selector so I checked it and re-assembled the machine and test ran it. The water level still continues to fill all the way up even when I set the selector to "Low". I never touched the selector switch or removed it from the panel, nor did I have to disconnect the wires from it. It virtually remained intact throughout the repair of the lid switch. Any ideas??? Pull the hose off the switch and blow in it. If it is clogged up, soap residue may have stuck in it. If so, dump some vinegar in the tub and let it sit for a while, may clear it out.
If ok, gently blow in the switch where the hose attaches and verify switch clicks, if not, it's bad.
