Amana top load washer leaks onto the floor during the spin cycle. Intermittent, but getting more frequent. I took off the front cover, and it appears the water is coming from under the tub area near the center. The inside tub is stainless steel, and all seems to be in good condition. I tried to get the agitator out, but couldn't figure out how to do so. I replaced the inlet solenoid about a year ago, so I know there is no leak there.

I repair coffee machines for a living, but know nothing about washers. Any help will be appreciated, especially before my wife goes out and gets a new one.

If you remove the fabirc softener dispenser and the cap there should be a bolt down in the agitator.
