Model Number: GHW9200LW0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
Teenager overloaded the washer causing 2 of the shock absorbers to break/come free, eventually causing the belt to come off. I had planned to replace the shocks so I had them and changed all of them out; as a tip to anyone who wants to do this, make sure the replacement is orientated correctly and twist in the bottom first. Anyway after replacing them I put the belt back on but when hand turning it would wander off, it is pretty worn and a new one is on order, thanks AppliancePartsPros.com. My question is about the Drum Drive pulley, it seems to have a lot of play in and out on the rim, is this normal? Is the Drum Drive a wear part, should I replace it also? The nut that holds it on only gets so tight, I guess it is meant to move freely, to a point, on its axis. That darn nut was tight also, I had to get the air impact gun out to get it free. Thanks for your help!
