Default Whirlpool washer leaks

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
I have a Whirlpool Super Capacity Plus washer. It leaks. Until recently, it leaked during use. Now it may be leaking all the time. I haven't found the model number. I have had it upside down and the parts are not very accessible, if that helps. I don't see any belts.

I'm wondering if this is likely an easy fix or if I should just bag it.

Thanks.

Most likely the problem is a bad pump. In order to provide more accurate advise we need the complete model number of the washer. You can find it under the lid.

OK. I found it. It is a LSR8244EQ1.

I think I was wrong about the leak. It seems to leak only when it is being used.

If it is the pump, is that a bad job? Or expensive?

ricall1,

The first thing I would do is remove the washer cabinet and visually inspect the parts inside to pinpoint the leak.

Post your findings.

billmac77,

I would recommend to do the same thing as I recommended to ricall1 first. Post your findings and we'll go further.
