Cascading problems started with tub seal going out. Replaced that, then the transmission went out. Replaced that. Now it chirps when it goes into the spin cycle, spins for a couple of seconds, and overloads. The rest of the cycles work fine. Help appreciated.

Did this happen right after you replaced the transmission?

Yes it did. I have a suspicion that the new brake pad(?) that came with the transmission may have something to do with it, because it sounds like it is rubbing slightly.

The new brake pads will make a rubbing sound till they are broken in. Did you remove the old brake before changing the tranny? if so, most likely cause would be the tub seal bound up on the tranny, causing the noise and no spin....Been there, kinda sucks cause you have to take it all apart again. But first make sure you did not install the new tranny over the old brake.

I did remove to old brake, and the tub seal looked fine. Do you mean it may be bound up from underneath? That would cause the motor to overload? Man, I hope that's all it is. Also, do you happen to know what the torque specs are for the transmission bolts?

The tub seal can roll up the tranny on the inside and cause it to bind up, it will look fine, but looks are'nt everything There is some finess that must be used when replacing the seal. As far as torque goes, I've been replacing these trannies for 8 years now, and I just get em good and tight. The tub nut is the one you got to get real tight.

No dice. The chirp got louder. Is there a brake on the motor? The chirpping sounds like it comes from the motor
