Are some of the Whirlpool agitators not rebuildable? I cannot get the top agitator piece off of the lower. Inside it looks like some white plastic tabs have been heated and melted into the clearer plastic hub that holds the racheting dogs. It looks like it was manufactured this way. Its a Whirlpool washer LSN1000LWO. I believe it is a 2002 or 2003 model year but not sure on that. Thanks for any help you can give.

All such agitators can be taken apart for repairs. The instructions are attached to the reply.
