Washing machine gets to the rinse cycle then won't move any longer. Therefore it doesn't drain and I have a tub full of water. The machine starts doing a buzzing sound and nothing happens. I do sense a minor smell similar to something rubbing. If I wait a bit and turn the dial a couple times eventually it will kick back in and finish up the rinse cycle. I've taken the front off and from a quick visual and a checking of the hoses I don't see anything. Thoughts? Thanks,

There is not a locking light to look at. I did go ahead and start it back up tonight and all seemed to look fine then peeked inside on the spin cycle and it shut down completely and will not turn back on. Pull the knob and nothing.

Started it back up but as soon as it gets to the spin cycle again it makes a long buzz and stops with water still in the tub.

Tilt the washer back. Remove the belt and check how freely the pump pulley is moving. Post the results.

Sounds like the problem is a bad timer.

- The timer Part number: AP4029054
Part number: AP4029054

Unfortunately replaced the timer and still have the same problem. The machine will stop and then if you turn the knob a tiny turn ahead it will kick back in again. Other thoughts?

At which point it stops and where you should move it to restart?
