Only during the final quick spin does the noise occur. Very loud banging. I 've looked everywhere that doesn't require a tool to see what it could be. If I spin it manually it will not make the noise.

You either have a busted shock, or a busted basket spider arm inside the tub.Remove the top and back access panel to check.
