I have a maytag washer model lat8204aae that will not spin.Was smelling like something burning and had stopped.Checked motor and took off belts and still would not run so ordered new motor and now motor hums but does not turn on unless you give it a push on pulley.Then if I turn off same thing and when its on it will still not spin.Please help low on funds and piles of clothes with 5 of us.

If there is nothing wrong with the wires, then the problem very likely is a bad timer. - The timer Part number: AP4028356
