I have what look's like a leaky transmission. There is a yellow fluid on the floor at the base of the unit. I have tried to order on'line a gasket or a new transmission for the unit. They are not available. I like this old machine and would prefer to repair it. Can a replacement gasket be fabricated and reinstalled? Can you replenish the lubricant? I would hate to just throw it away.-

I'm afraid there is not much what can be done. Unfortunately nothing last forever. Put a list of cardboard under the washer and use until it dies.

Gene,
Thanks for the quick reply. I guess to the landfill it will go when it finally locks up. Can you recommend a replacement unit? I like the old analog washers. BTW, I purchased this one in 1994.

So am I. Any TOP load washer without electronics will be good. I would prefer Whirlpool made direct drive washer.
