Model Number: KAWS700JT4 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: 5 - 10 years
Washer goes thru agitation cycle and then stops- quiet- nothing running.
Will not drain.Checked lid switch, was broken so I replaced it- nothing has changed. Same problem - no spin or draining. Trying to remove timer and cannot get knob off- trying to turn CCW but how do you hold plastic shaft without breaking? Related Models Last edited by mcwasher : 07-22-2008 at 12:05 PM. Looks like the knob should pull straight off. I would check your drain pump for a clog.

It is very simple. Remove the long locking pin (plastic rod) from the rear of the timer at the shaft. The knob magically comes right off.

Timer stops at spin cycle- thanks for great help for removing the knob- pull pin. I installed new lid switch- but timer stops -no spin or no water being pumped out- timer must be dead. Cost of new timer is $150.00 dolllars - so I will just purchase new machine for $350 as machine is 6 years old and I am afraid coupler or something else will go. I will have over $200 in parts and not worth waiting for something else to break.
Thank-you very much for your help. PS is there an easy way to check timer? Dave P.S. everything else works - agitation and cycling up till spin/pumpout on all cycles. There is no sound of anything therefore I don't think it is a clonged pump. Last edited by mcwasher : 07-23-2008 at 12:31 PM. Reason: adding material. |
