My Whirlpool washer, Model Number LA5400XSW0 will not drain. I suspect it has to do with a "throw rug" that was washed in the machine. The rug gave up its "shag" and the machine's filter or pump is likely clogged. I need to know where the filter is located. The pump comes off of a direct drive to the motor. What's the best was to diagnose this? Is the pump repairable or is it sealed? Where are the filters located and can they be cleaned or need replacement? Any help will be appreciated.

Remove outer cover, remove the pump and hoses, and clean out.
