Broan Compactor 1051-J

I have a Broan 1051-J Compactor. It had run fine for last 2 years.
At present when I activate the key switch it runs for approx. 2 secs. and then starts to cycle on and off quickly for an additional 3 secs. or so. After that it stops. Does this sound like a key switch problem? Should I try to replace the switch?
