Help!! Compactor doesn't reverse...
The compactor goes down, but stops at the bottom of the stroke and the motor just hums. No reverse. The compactor previously did this and stripped the teeth off of the gear drive sprocket which I replaced. I also replaced the centrifugal switch, but it still does not reverse. Any other ideas? I'd appreciate any help.... The GE Compactor I am struggling with is a GE model CGC950T-03.

If you can post the wiring diagram, it might help to provide more accurate advise. Also the right model number of your trash compactor is probably GCG950T-03 and not CGC.
