My Kitchen Aid has been great except for the drawer slides. Originals lasted about (12) years. In last (6) years I am replacing my third set. Are the replacement parts just inferior, or is there a secret to achieving longer life? They come lubed from the factory. The ball bearings start falling out as the track slowly deforms?

Hi Jim,
What is the complete model number of the trash compactor? Gene.

Thanks, Gene. The Model # is KUCS 181T. I have purchased the new slides from Appliance Parts Pro and they have arrived. Is there a trick in overcoming the springs in order to align the hole for the shoulder bolts ( two each side)? Do you know what type of lube is recommeded for the slides? Does something like Lubriplate or White Lithium Grease work? Will the same lube be good for the ram screw? A lot of questions but getting it in and out of the hole to work on is achore for an old guy like me so I want to do it as few times as possible.
