I have a Kenmore compactor modle#665.13605790.
It compacts part way then sounds like it is stripping gears. then I have to turn the start knob to return the ram. Can you tell me what might cause this problem? Thank you. |

Check this switch for continuity.
When the switch is in "solid pack" position, the "O" & "O-B" circuit should be closed and the "O" & "Y" should be open. When the switch is in "normal" position, the "O" & "O-B" circuit should be open and the "O" & "Y" should be closed. Replace the switch if the reading is different. In order to provide the right part number for the switch I need the color of the control panel. Gene.

One more thing: if it's very noisy - most likely it is time for lubrication.
You can find the complete instructions in the one of my previous posts: jenn air Trash compactor Gene.
