Whirlpool trash compactor drawer stuck closed
Model Number: 8700xy Brand: Whirlpool Age: More than 10 years
My mom has a whirlpool trash compactor model tc8700xy, installed 1992 or 3, and has given many years of faithful service.
Inexplicably, drawer wouldn't open a few months ago. Seems like ram is stuck down. She pressed the start button several times and the motor made noise as if working, however, no longer. I tried the reset procedure per manual, check power supply (good) but no noise from compactor and cannot reset ram to open drawer. How do i get the drawer open? Is this a fried motor?
