K/A Compactor "surging" & dims lights, help...?
Model Number: KCCC151EWH0 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: More than 10 years
Our older Kitchen Aid compactor seems to be "surging" or maybe reversing when we ask it to mash some trash. Sounds a bit like a cold cranking car. The kitchen room lights dim in sympathy. Leads me to suspect a short of some sort but I don't know the usual places to look.
Also, I scooped up a Whirlpool Gold compactor (GX900QPKQ0) for cheap. They look so similar, does anyone know if i can scavange parts from the Whirlpool for the Kitchen Aid, or vice versa.
