Spring for Ram Kitchenaid Compactor

Model Number: 917 270 810 Brand: Kitchen Aid Age: More than 10 years

This Kitchenaid by Hobart Trash Compactor works great - but we have gone thru 2 sets of rails and now believe that possibly the return spring is worn out and this is allowing the rails to take the entire weight and therefore no added support is being given to the basket? Are springs available?
