GE Profile won't run

GE Profile won't run

My 1 1/2 yr old compactor just hums when I lift the start switch. I removed the unit, turned the motor by hand a bit, re-installed and it will cycle through one time and then just hum again (unless I go through the process of turning the motor again). I assume the motor needs rewinding? Any suggestions? Thanks. Ed.
