Bypass on/off switch
Model Number: 6X900QPLs0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
Hey guys
About a month ago, the trash compactor just stopped working at all. I wasn't home that week so my wife called an 'expert', who detected a faulty on/off switch. Ther switch was backorder so he just bypassed it. I would like to install another switch (not a replacement part, just a standard on/off switch) so when the ram is all the way down, I can turn the compactor off so it stays down to keep it compacted. Problem is, not too sure where to plug it. I currently have 2 wire that have been welded together, a purple and a light pink with a dark pink stripe on it. Those 2 are connected to the bus 'V' of the control pannel. The other wire is a yellow connected to the 'Y' bus of the control pannel. There is a third bus on the control pannel that is labelled 'T-R' but nothing goes on it at the moment. From what I can tell, electricity is comming on the 'V' bus as if it is unplugged, the compactor wont start. But if I start it then unplugged it, it won't stop. So I cannot put the switch there.
Anybody knows how to help on this???
Thanks a lot
sam
