My Kenmore trash compactor-about 9 yrs old popped the door out on the reverse when finishing compacting - we smelled an electrical burn smell, it shut down then when cycled back on again went back to normal except it pops the door out when it comes back up after compacting. This happened before about 2 yr ago, we checked out the obvious - door latched properly, trash caught on ram and cleared a small bit of paper stuck to ram. After letting it rest 30 min or so it worked fine. Yesterday when I switched it on to compact it did the burnt electrical smell, made the louder than usual comapcting noise and shut itself off. It came back on a few minutes later and keeps popping the door open when you press compact. We flipped the breaker off and are afraid to use it.
Any HELP would be greatly appreciated.
