Question Whirlpool Trash Compactor --Model #TC900QPDQ1

There are 3 switches on my compactor. They are Off -- On -- Start.
When I wish to compact something, I push the On button and it immediately begins compacting. It never lets me push the Start button which was the normal procedure in the past. It does compact, but at the end makes a banging noise until I turn it off. What part do I need to replace?

Hi trout

There is only one switch on the control panel and this switch has three buttons. The problem is the "start" button got stuck. In order to fix it this push button switch has to be replaced.

- The part number for the white switch AP2984144

- The part number for the black switch AP3020714

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool trash compactor Model TC900QPDQ1

Good luck.
Gene.
