Knocking Sound + Broken/ Stripped Gear
Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
Gene, thanks for all the posts and the different solutions.
Whirlpool unit GX900QPP started with the knocking sound at the bottom of the cycle, I would shut it off and it would retract. I refered to a post on 9/16/2008 (Moscotty), ordered part number 9871824, switch off, replaced the switch but the problem still existed. Did I get a back replacement switch? Now the bottom drive gear is stripped out. If I refer to the post 12/10/2010 (Ed Maher) you state the problem could be cracked side power nuts. (plus lubrication) So, with the this potential trouble shooting will the power nut kit, Drive gear and the switch I previously purchase solve the problem? Ads By Google
