Hi rbern007
The first thing I would check is the lock on the right side of the container. See if everything is in place. The second thing I would check if the ram is in the upper position. You also can pull the t/c out of the cabinet, remove the top cover and check the ram position from the top. - Here are the break down diagrams for the Jenn Air trash compactor Model TC507Q Good luck.
