KitchenAid Trash Compactor foot pedal wont' open the compactor
KitchenAid Trash Compactor
Model No. Kucc151lpa0 The spring is broken on the foot pedal. Do I need part 2 in the diagram is called the actuator switch or part 7 foot pedal?

Tony,
Check the container spring (#33 on the break down diagram). Check how freely is container moving forth and back. Check if the container is not bend. The foot pedal is not spring loaded. Gene.
