on ge trash compactor the gear box replacement part wc22x5028 ( for wc22x5027) does not have any retaining washer or part for same on the back of the box to hold in the gear that drives the chain. on the original factory part there is a washer and it looks like the back of the gear shaft was flaired to hold the washer on. I bloodied myself trying to get it off, now the washer is bent up and still on the shaft!!!!! help!!!!
