Default kitchen aid will not solid pack

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
Kitchenaid model KUCS02CRWH Operates correctly on normal mode. Will only solid pack if you hold the key/switch in the start position. It will stop if the key/switch is released. It will not automatically stop in the full pack position when the ram is fully extended, but will continue through until it tops out ond starts making a poppping sound as if a clutch/safety is engaging. what's up, anybody? This model has flush push buttons, not rocker switches
