I just replaced a few of the damper/ diffuser...

I just replaced a few of the damper/ diffuser assemblies, the item with the motor, rather expensive. it's common for the switches to gum up on these along with the control you replaced.

You might have a burnt wire someplace, best to fix before cleaning it. If no burnt wire, check the current with an amprobe, maybe a bad compressor.

I usually charge till I reach the R12 or R138 pressure per the pressure/temperature chart. Without an accumulator in the freezer and the frost line away from the compressor, you should be ok.

Use an old lamp cord to plug the motor in. The damper housing ends in the freezer. Probably need to pound it out from the freezer side.

If the evaporator fan motor has 115 volts stamped on it, plug it in the wall outlet. If still not up to speed, order a new one on this site.

Your evaporator must be totally frosted over. Also, make sure the compressor is not shutting down prematurely, thus causing the partial frost.

Your system is low on refrigerant, will probably get worse. If does not leak out fast, you might have a condenser leak. This assumes the frost pattern stays the same after a long period of time.
