Icemaker motor for door feed-thru stays on continuously.
Model Number: 253.57189601 Brand: Kenmore Age: 1 - 5 years
Guys...Problem yesterday (17 July 08). Engaged thru-the-door ice feeder...would not turn off. Flipped door lever several times..no results. Had to un-plug refrig. then eventually completely remove ice maker to continue refrig. use. Read blog here about optics light on flapper...checked my fridge & could not locate such a light. Could this model have, & if yes, how do I remove housing to get into mechanism in door without destroying/damaging this plastic? This Mod. # not in your database for poss. schematic. Fridge has been trouble-free untill this occurance. Thanks for any help! ettabor (Earl)
