The fridge door does not close properly. As far as I can tell the problem is not the gasket (I replaced it) but the door not hanging strainght. The fridge is leveled.
Is there a way to adjust the door so that it hangs straight?
I cannot see any adjustement possible but maybe there are somewhere.

Also if all else fail, I am ready to just tape to the gasket one or two layers of additional sealant (the type of foam sealant that one uses for doors and windows). Would that be OK or do I really need to buy a new fridge (a new door??)>

Many thanks,

Ilana

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for KENMORE 59671813101 | AppliancePartsPros.com

Just do a search in the parts for hinge, the following will be there and this may be broken and need replacing.
Part number: AP4009576
Part number: AP4009576

It helps hold the door straight re: it rides up and down the cam on the parts.

You should be able to repair this unit.

Hard to say what the problem is without actually being there.

Thanks for your answer!

OK so if I get the part, how to do the repair? Where is this part located? Is it easy to find and replace? Do I need just one or two of these small thingies?

Thanks again,

Ilana

Remove the top hinge and the door.
Helps to have help when doing this.
If door has water/ice dispenser in it be very careful as you do not want to break the water line or wires going from under the fridge into the door.

Not bad if you have some help. Also depending on the set up sometimes it is a good idea to have something to rest the door on while you work on the hinge. Cannot say if it is easy or not, what I find easy you may find difficult and what you find easy I may find difficult. Just take your time and plan it out before you start dis-assembly.

Should only need one. Take a look at it before ordering, who knows it may not be your problem.

I've ordered the part.
Will try to get some help to do the repair (two neighbors already helped me getting the fridge leveled ... )

Let's hope it works.

Many, many thanks!
