Default Ice-maker water won't stop
Model Number: FRS26R4CB6   Brand: Frigidaire   Age: 1 - 5 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com

I just replaced the water inlet walve and went inside the freezer to cycle the ice maker and when the water came on it didn't stop. Could it be the timer or do I need a new ice maker. Help!

What did you mean?

Which part did you call "timer"?

What was the original problem?

Gene.

Default icemaker

there is a phillips head screw that you can turn on the front of the icemaker and when it comes to where the water is filling the tray it does not stop.

I don't know if the motor turning it goes a certain speed or is on a timer and I don't know where that would be if it has one.

original problem water continues to run after it run s through a cycle

Which of the two gears (small gear or large gear) did you turn and in what direction? Did the gears turn by itself after that?

Gene.

Default Icemaker

I turned the larger of the two clockwise until the water started flowing and at that point it did not stop so I turned it until I heard it click. I marked the gear with a marker and watched to see if it was moving and it did not look like it moved in several hrs.

Sounds like the problem is a bad ice maker itself.
