Model Number: 596.79142993 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
I have a Kenmore bottom freezer. My frig has been very warm but my freezer is acceptable. I read the threads here and completely defrosted it yesterday. There was some ice build up and I thought maybe the vents from the freezer to the frig were blocked with ice. I also cleaned the back there was a lot of dust. I left the frig to the max cool temp since last night and the freezer is at 20 and frig at 50. The frig is turning on and off and not running constantly. The fan is blowing cool air into the top of the frig. It is just not cold enough. I thought maybe it need a freon recharge but it is not running constantly. I'm trying to decide if it is time for a new one. Any ideas would be appreciated
