It doesn't appear to be broken, I cut a 1/2" off the tube and reinserted it thinking that that may be the problem, I also replaced the insert in the tube. Same problem. I am thinking of a small hose clamp but wanted to see if anyone out there has ever had a similar problem.
I just had this problem with my kenmore side by side, it was leaking water inside my freezer and freezing solid in the ice bin. I tried the same thing as you removing that tube and it didnt work. It turned out to be water valve that is in the rear of the fridge that your water line feeds into. And it opens and closes for the water going into the ice maker and when it goes bad it overflows .There is also a filter in it that you can clean..I just replaced it and it solved my problem.
