Model Number: tfx20jrxfww Brand: GE Age: More than 10 years

Ice maker dispenser does not dispense ice cubes.

That petty much say it all. I did have this problem 5 years ago and it was the circuit board in the freezer door. I have tried a new circuit board and it did not fix the problem the part could defective. So am in the right place to fix this problem.

I think the part I need is AP2071638.

Sorry this is a duplicate.

Bill,

Remove the ice bin, the ice maker, protector shelf and the motor cover (#360 & #361 on the diagram). Check for 120 VAC to the solenoid (#378) while the ice dispenser is in "cube" mode, the ice dispenser lever depressed and the door light switch depressed. Post the results.

I am the owner of a GSH22JSTA which had a failed defrost element replaced (with the newer double-tube). My icemaker has always dispensed crushed ice, but no cubes. For a short time after the repair, the solenoid worked and cubes were dispensed. Now the solenoid appears to be frozen up again. Could this be a defrost timer issue, or is there an improved solenoid that might not be so prone to freezing up? I do note some frost and ice around the icemaker back chassis where the solenoid and auger motor are mounted.

Thanks -Stan
