Hello
My GE Refrigerator model PTS22LHPARCC is not cooling.

I vacuum the coils on the back, somewhat dusty. Nothing, I unplugged it for an hour & took all the food out. Plugged it back it in & seemed to start working fine. Left it overnight ok. The condenser fan is always running know. Also the refrigerator is cool/ fine. But the freezer was cold, but now it’s loosing temperature.
Any thoughts on what’s wrong & the parts I need?
Thanks

Does the compressor run?

Does the fan inside the freezer run?

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for General Electric PTS22LHPARCC Refrigerator | AppliancePartsPros.com

Yes both fans are running. But the refrigerator & freezer are not cold.
I unpluged for a few hours, no water in the freezer, some water came out of one of the back drian tubes.
Pluged it in both fans run but the compressor will not kick in. Ran if for a few hours nothing.

Does the compressor make any noise or it's absolutely silent?

No noise or no vibration.

Check for 120 VAC at the connector J7-9 orange wire to the terminal J8 black wire at the control board (#801 on the diagram) while the refrigerator is plugged in and the control is on.

If there is no proper voltage, replace the main control board.

If there is correct reading, very likely the compressor has gone bad.

Hi Gene,
I have a similar problem, however the refrigerator AND freezer are not cooling. Both fans are working. I have the GE Profile Artica, roughly 7 years old.

The compressor is not kicking in -- is not hot to the touch and makes no noise. The model # of the refrigerator is PTS25LBMARWW. This has a different motherboard # than the previous fellow posted. I tested the terminals exactly as stated in the other post (however, again it is a different board -- the number that appears on the board is 8RK4B10006800 GEA model #197D4603G6002). According to a parts website, the motherboard number for the GE Profile Artica is A4425GDTBWW). I tested J7-9 to J-8 and got no voltage (again, my board is a bit different that the one on the previous post). This being the case, I am tempted to replace the motherboard as suggested by you for the other post. Any thoughts/recommendations on this?

The motherboard seems easy to replace -- can you confirm and let me know if you think this is the best route to go.

Thanks.

Bob

Bob,

I do not know why you you believe those boards are different. If you will search by the model number, you will get exactly the same part number in return. Your test result most likely means a faulty main control board.

Gene,
Thanks for the info on the control board. We took it off the back of the fridge and found that it was burned out. We installed a new one last night. Both fridge and freezer are now cooler, however there is a whirring noise coming from the unit -- sounds like from the freezer. It started several hours ago and is pretty constant. Any suggestions?
Bob
