I have a Kenmore 26' side by side Regrigerator/Freezer that is 6 years old. Lately the ice maker has been dumping ice that seems to be melting into a solid form in the ice bin and blocks the ice dispenser because the auger cannot turn. It dispenses ice cubes, crushed, plus plain water. The water dispenses with no problem. When I took the bin out this morning to dump the ice clogs, I noticed an icicle forming on the unit right behind the bin. The water filter was replaced one month ago. The water line is plastic tubing, but has never caused a problem. There are no water leaks that I can detect. Do I have to replace the entire unit. If so, will it require a professional or can I do it myself?
