Question Refridgerator/freezer
Model Number: ED25SM1L   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 5 - 10 years

This refridgerator was given to me and I hooked up water & it works out of water dispeser but icemaker won't. I can pour water in ice maker and it will freeze and drop. It's not getting water to icemaker.

Hi Kimla

Most likely the problem is a bad solenoid on the dual water valve (#1 on the ice maker break down diagram).

- The part number for the new dual water valve AP3103466

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool refrigerator Model ED25SM1LWR0

Good luck.
Gene.

I tried last night & switched the water line to the ice maker, but you have to push in the water to fill up ice maker & if you don't stop it will over flow. Do you still think its the solenoid?

How did you switch lines? They have a different size: the tube for the ice maker 1/4" and the tube for the drinking water 5/16".

Gene.
