I have searched this forum completely but have failed to find an exact match for my problem. Several weeks ago I started noticing water at front of the freezer side on floor. Then noticed that the bottom pull out tray was frozen in place. Got tray out, found ice all in bottom of freezer compartment. Researched this site, ordered new heaters and defrost thermostat. Unbeliveable...received the parts the very next day with standard shipping! Took freezer apart to defrost completly, installed new heaters and thermostat. Dried compartment completely. Plugged back in.

In approx. 10 hours, the defrost cycle kicked in. I could see the red glow. It lasted approx. 20 min. so I feel the timer is fine. However, I noticed a pool of water under the catch pan below the coils and it quickly turned to ice. I cleared this ice, but on the next defrost cycle it reappeared and does so every defrost cycle. The catch/drip pan is empty.

It looks like the water is bypassing the catch pan and is coming down the back wall behind the metal enclosure that contains the coils, heater, etc. Any suggestions on how to correct would be very welcomed. This is a great site!

Here is the parts breakdown.
Replacement parts for MAYTAG RSW2200EAE Ref - SXS/I&W | AppliancePartsPros.com

Sounds like the drain tube going from under the evaporator coils to the drip tray under the unit is plugged.

Check that there is not dust etc. blocking it at the drip tray end.
If OK
Remove the evaporator cover and blow it clear.
If you have a compressor you can use it set at a low pressure OR push a flexible wire through it OR a turkey baster with some warm water.
The biggest problem is figuring out how to get a seal onto the tube so you can clear it
Once clear it is a good idea to flush it out with a 10% bleach solution.
This will kill any crud growing in the tube and hopefully also let you flush it out.

Just be sure that you do not overflow the drip tray.
Also wear old clothes, at least I have to as I always seem to get some of the bleach on my clothes.
