More troubleshooting info for any Expert that can help...

My problem was an icemaker that doesn't fill. I hotwired the valve and the icemaker fills fine. So is the problem the control board? Or the icemaker signaling the control board?

Any ideas how to further isolate the problem? I checked the connections to the control board and all seemed OK. It's an electronic icemaker w/ green LED. LED is on solid. I have reset icemaker several times w/ no change. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Turn icemaker of for 30 seconds, turn back on and push the paddle back 3 times within 5 seconds, the icemaker should cycle takes about 3 minutes, let me know if it fills with water

Hi - thanks for the reply; I already did that as the factory "reboot" procedure. Still no water flow.

I would have to say, replace your icemaker. If you put 120volts to the solenoid and you get water to the icemaker, then you have an icemaker that is not sending that signal to fill. Your main board is fine, your icemaker is not.

Thanks again. So how can you be sure that the control board is OK. Doesn't the icemaker control the valve through the control board? Or does it send 120v to the valve directly?

Thx.

currently 8 years experiance as a GE tech tells me your board is ok. I have never seen an icemaker issue caused by a bad board. I like my odds on this one.

Chip, I looked at your model, and your board is under a rework by GE, you can call GE to come and put a new board in for free.
