Yesterday morning I had to clean out my freezer due to leaving some root beer bottles in the freezer. It took me a bit of time to clean everything out, getting glass, root beer off racks, foods boxes/bags, door/sides, etc. (it was a REAL mess). I put everything back and I recall by mid-afternoon most of the food items had frost on them. But this morning the freezer was warm enough to were almost all the ice melted, the ice cream was mush and meats were thawing out.

Next thing I did this morning was throw most of the thawed out chicken, water logged boxes, moved the rest of the foods to the refrigerator side and wiped the freezer down as dry as I could. A while later I put a little cup of water into the freezer and it seems to be turning to ice.

So... was this because of all the frost that was created by me cleaning out the freezer yesterday morning from my busted root beers and I'll be okay? Or am I looking at a dieing freezer?

Watch the freezer temperature for the next couple of days. Open it as seldom as you can. If it behaves like it should, it's probably OK.

Thanks magician59!

I just heard the ice maker drop its first ice... I am taking that as a good sign, seeing the ice maker is a POS all on its own.

Just as a FYI - I really hate this GE Profile Arctica, I put so many "fixes" in it, it would not surprise me it's dieing but I really hope it holds out.

Oh, and my Model number is PSS25MGMB BB (cannot figure out how to edit my model # in my fist post).
