This refrigerator is very cold at the bottom only, compressor gets very hot to the touch, and I haven't heard the fan run lately. Only gets down to about 50 degrees. Any ideas?

the fan in the freezer that you havent hear run lately is your problem my friend. When this stops working, cold temps fall towards the bottom, warmer air rises to the top. Oh, and the compressor is probably hotter than normal because the unit is running non stop, except when it goes into defrost.
change that fan and your all set
