Default inside freezer door freezing
Model Number: gss25sgmc   Brand: GE   Age: 1 - 5 years

I have a 25" side by side ge refrigerator it has the ice/water dispencer in the door. The problem that im having is that the ice chute door will not close most of the time letting warm air enter the freezer area unless you manually push it.This is from the solenoid being corroded. which i believe is from the inside of the door freezing up with water. Is there a way to keep the water from getting behind the interior panel of the freezer door? What would be causing this? what parts would i need to correct this if any? Thanks

What you have is a refridgerator that was part of a class action lawsuit by GE for the moisture issue you are refering to. Unfortunatly, there is nothing you can do to fix this now, except to pay for new doors which will run $800 plus. GE was fixing these for the last couple of years free of charge, but the suit has since expired, and are now only fixing at the price above.
