Default Control panel in fridge does not display
Model Number: 106.56686501   Brand: Kenmore   Age: 1 - 5 years

The control panel in the refrigerator does not display at all. I've tried holding down the on/off button and lock button to no avail. It stopped displaying about two weeks ago. Coincidentally, the ice maker has stopped working as well. Water no longer fills the ice tray. I've tried to see if there is ice in the supply line but I don't see any. The fridge is working fine except for these two problems. I can't tell if they are related. The display lights for the water and ice dispenser on the outside freezer door seem to work just fine.

I've unplugged the unit for several minutes to see what that would do, no change.

I tried to take off the control panel inside the fridge. I removed the two screws, but the panel did not budge.

Any ideas? What should I try next.

I'm having the same problem with my GE refrigerator. Have you had any success finding an answer yet?
