Unhappy GE Frige Ice Problem
Model Number: SSL27RGRC BS   Brand: GE   Age: 1 - 5 years

Hey Gang,
I have a GE Select side by side. The problem is that the ice drops into the chute but it wont open the trapdoor that lets it drop into the glass. I can open the door and give the ice a little nudge and it will dump the whole chute full of ice out of the door at one time. The chute is clean. It did have a little ice build up at the seal but I cleaned it out. I also removed the rubber door"flapper" cleaned it and reinstalled but still no help. Also sometimes you will hear a piece of ice drop out on the floor all on its own like it was caught in the door.
Any ideas?

Thanks,
Bill

Default

1. Check solenoid in the door.
2. Check board in the door.
3. Check wiring.
