Default SanyoElectricInc. MiniFrige-18"/16"
Model Number: KGC694   Brand: -other-   Age: 5 - 10 years

This unit has a custom CocaCola red paint scheme and I want to keep it.
When I plug it in the compressor is running and quiet. I put my fingers on it
and in about 2 min. it stops running and is getting hot. The two lines on the
comp. are at room temp. I know the PTC thermister is opening the circuit as
the comp. goes above operating temp. What is making the comp. get too hot.
There are no strange odors or evidence of leaking R-12. Could the R-12
have leaked slowly giving no sign or smell of the leakage? Should I braze in a
valve and vacumn test the system. Then recharge it with the 1.8oz. capacity
of new refrigerant? If the system has leaked will that cause the comp. to
get hot fast. Thanks a bunch. vanbruz
