Default refrigerator/freezer repair
Model Number: 253   Brand: Frigidaire   Age: 5 - 10 years   

compresser runs all the time frig is warm and freezer doesn't freeze. I put in a new defrost timer thinking that would solve problem but it did not. because freezer had build of frost on back wall. please help if you know of what else I can do. thanks bbounds

Pull the freezer back panel out and check frost pattern, if all frosted over, defrost with hair dryer and replace the little round defrost thermostat clipped to the evaporator coil. Before replacing the thermostat, temporarily short it's leads and turn the defrost timer to defrost, heater should heat up. If not, replace it also.
